Flora Park Historic Cabin, F4917.tif
Historic Cabin
Flora, Indiana

A nineteenth century cabin once located in Democrat Township was once owned by an Eikenberry family and also housed the Kelly family of Cutler. The cabin had no fireplace, but was probably heated by a metal stove. Holes in the flooring for piping are the only evidence that the stove provided warmth. There have been an estimated 5 births and 2 deaths in the cabin that was donated to the Sycamore Club and Carroll Historians by Kenneth and Joyce Orem. Under the direction of educator Glen Dillman, the cabin was moved to the Flora Community Park on December 8, 1981.
