Spruce Tree House, G4803
“Spruce Tree House”
Mesa Verde National Park

Spruce Tree House is the third largest cliff dwelling in Mesa Verde. Constructed in the 13th century by the ancient Puebloans, the structure contains 130 rooms and 8 kivas or ceremonial chambers. It is believed to be the residence for 60-80 people. Spruce Tree House has suffered little deterioration because a large natural overhang protects it. Overlooks from above offer superb views.
