Old Schoolhouse Door, E7103
Voices of yesteryear seem to whisper beyond the doors of a Carroll County schoolhouse. Remains of the academic structure are all that are left of a bygone time when children ran to the entrance with books held together by leather straps. Huge wooden doors frame the entry that led to the one-room schoolhouse. The metal latch hangs loosely from the forgotten doors, yet it left signs of daily rubbings from constant use. No longer protected from the elements, the bare wood is cracked and dry. Glimpses into the room show only a skeleton of what once was held so dearly by local children.
