We took a family trip to Ireland in July, 2002. One of our stops was in the town of Killarney. It is a beautiful town with painted storefronts, fish and chips, and pubs. The outskirts of town beckoned us to explore the lush greenery of Killarney National Park. The Lakes of Killarney is one of Ireland's most popular attractions within the park. The Owengarriff River cascades through Friars' Glen before emptying into Muckross Lake. Although the highest point of the waterfall is 60 feet, this smaller cascade intrigued us enough to get our feet wet. The Irish claim that there are about 57 shades of green in their country. There is no blarney to that statement regarding Killarney National Park.
