Spruce Tree House is the third largest cliff dwelling in Mesa Verde. Constructed in the 13th century by the ancient Puebloans, the structure contains 130 rooms and 8 kivas or ceremonial chambers. It is believed to be the residence for 60-80 people. Spruce Tree House has suffered little deterioration because a large natural overhang protects it. Overlooks from above offer superb views.
