A Walk in the Woods

A January hike along Trail 1 in Shades State Park is a good way to refreshen the mind from the winter doldrums. The steep steps taking you down into the deep ravine brings you to the beginnings of Silver Cascade Falls. The gentle sounds of the flowing water as it slowly moves over the various shelves is mesmerizing.
