When one visits the majestic mountain of Pike's Peak, the basic two choices to get to the top is to drive the twisting road or take the tram. When one visits the majestic mountain of Pike's Peak, the basic two choices to get to the top is to drive the twisting road or take the tram. I prefer to drive which allows you the freedom to explore, particularly on the descent. This particular unknown species was found as we left the alpine region and entered the sub-alpine zone. The puffy flower, which resembles a huge dandelion, was about ready to allow the wind to carry it's seeds to another location so the fragile life on the mountain could continue. « less
